In my master’s year, I combined my two main interests: design and music. My challenge was to translate the intangible, abstract world of music into a graphic, visual language. Through a process-driven approach of experimentation and reflection, I developed a visual language linked to my own guitar music. The final result: three album covers designed as a leporello.
I incorporated my thesis into a publication, where I described my working method and elaborated on my visual process. I also explored themes and concepts that inspired me and provided a framework for my work — such as the graphic notation, synesthesia, the Oramics machine, abstract art, fractals in nature, data-analyzing tools and way more.
